Here is the mounting solution for your KX3 unit! You will now be able to now place or orient your KX3 above to the left or right, even below your PX3! You will be able to insert and remove the KX3 with this mount and not need any tools other than your fingers. There are no fastener to loose or additional tools to carry. This mount is made from the same durable Poly-carbonate plastic as the covers. This mount is FLEXIBLE and does not shatter or crack like acrylic plastics.
It has been fabricated with AMPS standard 4 bolt pattern. This allows the KX3 to be mated to a variety of surfaces/objects using any of the base units of your preference from companies like Lido, RAM or D-67. The user will provide the desired length of #10 (10-32 or 10-24 work fine) or 5mm bolts for the other countries, to attach this mount to their choice of the base units, due to varied dimensions of these aftermarket bases. I found that using an acorn nut makes for a great look that is rounded and safe.
To use this product the user must keep the thumb screws on the KX3 body tightened, prior to inserting into the mount. The mount tabs can be flexed away from the radio allowing the install and removal of the KX3 with thumb pressure.

I had the opportunity to see the prototype KX3 and PX3 mounts in November. I was very excited to receive both mounts. Well worth the wait. Typical of the products I received from Scott they are top notch. Had one minor shipping problem which Scott took care of immediately. After a long wait, this is an excellent product. I use mine (along with a low profile RAM non-ball, handlebar mount, RAP-274U) for bicycle mobile use. The whole thing needs to be strong, vibration resistant, and yet allow the KX3 to be inserted and removed easily and quickly. The SideKX KX3 mount works perfectly for this purpose, and just stays on the bike! Now, I need to get another one for normal mobile use in the car!

I’m very pleased with the mounts for the KX3 and PX3, which I ordered in January 2022. They arrived quickly. They’re easy to install. And they are sturdy. I followed Scott’s “mounting ideas” page with a few adjustments. I love my KX3. It’s my main rig. But I’ve never loved the angle it sits at on my desk. Now I can adjust it however I want. I now have the KX3 and PX3 up off my desk and mounted under a shelf near my monitor. It clears up some desk space (more room for radios….or work?) Thanks, Scott.
